Shortly before his death in The End, Epsilon simulated a multitude of potential scenarios that could happen in the event that everyone but himself survives, which included scenarios where One works with Carolina.
One's parents were members of the A.O.D. and were killed in action. Afterwards, she was taken in by Axel and raised like his daughter.
